ISO 9001:2008

The principles of the IOS9001:2008 standard are:

• Continual improvement

Our processes are designed for the purpose of managing our business effectively and ensuring we remain alert to business improvement opportunities. We have procedures in place to identify problems and take the appropriate steps to resolve issues and successfully evolve.

Miles Smith was first approved to the standard in 1994.


The primary aim of our Information Security Management System (ISMS) is to keep information assets secure, whether that be client information, management information or products and innovations. The ISMS establishes a systematic approach to managing sensitive information and ensuring that it remains secure. People, processes and IT systems are all addressed, with the fundamental purpose being risk management.

Miles Smith has held the ISO27001 certification since 2002.


The standards set out the criteria for approved quality management and information security systems. In being certificated, we have an obligation to evidence the procedures that have been put in place to meet the requirements of the standards, monitor and take action in respect of any breaches or non-conformities. We have regular surveillance and recertification
audits which are carried out by approved ISO Certification Assessors for both ISO9001:2008 and ISO27001:2013.

In 2012 we achieved the Investors in people standards.
